Helsinki: What makes a world-class destination

Heart of London’s placemaking webinar series, discussing what makes a world-class city.

About this event

In our latest online event series, “What makes a world-class destination?” we will look at examples of great placemaking and explore what drives social value, wellbeing, and prosperity within a place.

We are delighted to welcome Anni Sinnemäki, Deputy Mayor of Helsinki. Helsinki is a city known for its progressive approaches to social issues and is the capital of a country that has been voted the happiest in the world for the past five years. It also takes its goal to become carbon neutral by 2035 very seriously.

In an interview led by Heart of London’s Chief Executive Ros Morgan, Anni will share her vision for Helsinki, the city’s aim to be the most functional city in the world and what the city is doing to digitalise services and develop smart urban solutions to improve the quality of life of citizens.

This event has now taken place, but you can still view the recording.
