The West End’s Platinum Lace Club receives highest score at the Best Bar None Awards
12 September 2024: Platinum Lace, one of the UK’s leading Gentleman’s Clubs, received the highest score for its two venues in the West End of London at last night’s Best Bar None awards beating 31 other licensed venues.
Supported by the Home Office and the hospitality and drinks industries, Best Bar None is an accreditation scheme that recognises commitment to raising standards in responsible venue management and in turn, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. Venues are assessed on staff training and care; customer safety and welfare; and customer service and contribution to the community.
Held at bar and event space Neon 194, the Best Bar None awards ceremony was facilitated by Heart of London Business Alliance (HOLBA). The awards are designed to celebrate the dedication of licensed venues in upholding exceptional industry standards, cultivating safer environments and helping customers to identify well-run pubs, bars, clubs, and other hospitality venues.
This year’s award ceremony had a record number of 33 entries from assessed and accredited businesses (see below for a full list), all scoring between 90% and 97%, demonstrating the area’s reputation as a thriving and safe destination.
Dan Reid, Director of Operations, Platinum Lace said: “The Best Bar None accreditation is a testament to the high standards of management and safety we uphold across our venues. It not only showcases our commitment to our customers and the community but also provides valuable insights into areas for further improvement. We are grateful to have the support of the Heart of London Business Alliance with this initiative.”
Ros Morgan, Chief Executive, Heart of London Business Alliance, said: “The hospitality sector has had a tough few years and still faces many challenges so it was great to come together for the Best Bar None Awards last night to celebrate the industry. This year we have seen a record number of businesses participating in the accreditation process which will play a key role in helping to protect and promote the commercial and cultural wellbeing of London’s West End.”
Sylvia Oates, National Scheme Manager, Best Bar None, said “It’s fantastic to see the HOLBA team successfully engaging and working to accredit Best Bar None venues, recognising and promoting the highest possible operating standards and providing customers with the reassurance of well-managed venues in which to socialise safely.”
