Heart of London partners with the London Festival of Architecture as a Key Destination for 2024.

Tuesday 23 January: Heart of London have partnered with the London Festival of Architecture as a Key Destination for 2024, celebrating the West End’s architectural brilliance and cultural diversity.

Taking place across London in June, the London Festival of Architecture is a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making, which seeks to inspire and engage audiences with a programme that showcases London as a global architecture hub. Now in its 20th year, the Festival has been delivering a rich cultural programme across London’s neighbourhoods with a series of installations, exhibitions, workshops, talks and special events which bring together the public and the industry.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Reimagine’, encapsulating Heart of London’s mission to foster innovation while preserving heritage. Providing the West End with an opportunity to become a canvas for redefining what it means to live, work, and be inspired in a world-class destination as we work to reimagine the area for future generations, Mark Williams, Director of Destination at Heart of London Business Alliance said:

“We are thrilled to partner with the London Festival of Architecture as a Key Destination for 2024. The West End, under Heart of London’s stewardship, has consistently aimed at being an immersive experience where architecture tells the story of our rich history and dynamic future. The West End is a living canvas where historic landmarks seamlessly coexist with contemporary institutions. The 2024 theme, ‘Reimagine’ allows us to explore new possibilities, envision the West End’s potential and contribute to the ongoing architectural excellence in one of the greatest cities in the world.”

LFA are calling for events that put people at the heart of the city and reimagine public spaces. Anyone with a passion for architecture and the built environment can propose a project or event to feature in the festival’s programme. The ‘open call’ model aims to democratise the discussion around architecture in London. Engaging events will rethink our spaces and how they are used, from closing streets, hosting street parties, delivering workshops, performances and many more creative solutions; public spaces across London will be temporarily reimagined to capture the public’s imagination and inform long term meaningful changes. Those who wish to propose an event have until 8 March to submit at londonfestivalarchitecture.org.
