Sackville Street and Vigo Street
Sackville Street is a handsome thoroughfare running north from Piccadilly to Vigo Street. It has its own particular grandeur, with stately buildings in Portland stone framing the ends of the street and symmetrical neoclassical porticoes creating a monumental gateway from Piccadilly.
Construction is currently underway to transform Sackville and Vigo Streets with widened footways with high-quality York stone and granite sets. The scheme includes an elegant sequence of trees and seating, a traffic-free link to East Mayfair, public art, and an enhanced gateway from Regent Street, encouraging more footfall into Piccadilly.
The Sackville Street and Vigo Street scheme completes the family of East Mayfair public realm improvements on the surrounding streets and aligns with the Royal Academy of Arts’ investment in its new north entrance
