London’s West End is facing a major new challenge. From April 2026, changes to business rate proposals are likely to increase rates by an estimated 26% for buildings in England with a rateable value exceeding £500,000, disproportionately impacting businesses in the West End and central London.
We predict 25% of HOLBA members will be impacted by these increases.
Alongside our Chief Executive, Ros Morgan, we've asked our business rates experts, Paul Barnes, Managing Director, Attis Partnership and Alexander Jan, Consultant, Attis Partnership and Chief Economic Advisor to the London Property Alliance, to explain the changes coming into effect.
During the webinar we will:
- Break down what will be announced in the Autumn Budget on 26 November
- How these changes are likely to impact businesses
- Answer direct questions
- Explain more about HOLBA's campaign for Real Rates Reform
If you have concerns regarding these changes and would like to speak with us directly prior to the webinar, please contact our Head of Public Affairs antonia@holba.london.
We will be holding a second follow-up webinar on 5 December, which will examine the changes announced in the Budget and HOLBA’s campaign for Real Rates Reform. Register here.
